INFORMATION
Throughout December there were High Visibility
foot patrols in Bruntsfield and Morningside with the purpose of preventing
retail and alcohol related crime.
There was certainly a decrease in crime in December
and although there were incidents of shoplifting the incidents related
to relatively low value food and drink thefts from supermarkets. With
one exception there were no thefts from any other retail premises.
TAGGED INCIDENTS
During the month there were 174 incidents logged
by the police in respect of your ward. Of these only 17 were graded 1,
i.e. emergencies; 35 were Graded 2 i.e. not emergencies but should be
responded to within one hour. The remainder were dealt with by the Community
Beat Officer or patrol officers.
