- Simpsons
Special Care Babies.
This Edinburgh based voluntary run charity supports the Neo Natal
Unit (NNU) based in the "Simpsons" Maternity unit at the
new Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
The charity was set up in 1985 by a group of parents and friends
who had babies in the NNU. They were concerned by the lack of adequate
resources and support for modern life saving technology and established
the charity to work to give every baby in the special care NNU an
equal start in life.
SSCB is dedicated to the care of premature or sick newborn babies,
and the support of their parents. It is funded entirely from public
support through fund raising and donations.
We were delighted to support this charity as we had two mums whose
babies had spent time in the special care unit.
