Barbara McBryne founded the Hullachan Highland Dance School back in 2006.

From the age of 7, Barbara Munro (as she was known then) started dancing under the guidance of her first teacher, Shona Meikle. From there she progressed to passing her dancing exams with the United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dancing, guided by Linda Anne Gillan. Barbara then went on to gain her own teaching qualifications under SOHDA rules, with the help of Jean McKirdy (Vice President of SOHDA)

Jean has since further mentored Barbara to her current role of Dancing Competition Adjudicator, under SOHDA rules.

Between 1995 and 2001, Barbara danced with the world renowned Edinburgh Tattoo Highland Ceilidh Dancers, choreographed by Billy Forsyth MBE. In addition to the Tattoo, they performed at the Amsterdam Arena and at the London Palladium, alongside artists such as Wayne Sleep, Riverdance and Bruce Forsyth!
